Under the slogan “Youth of New Republic Universities” Al-Nahda University participates in Southern Universities Games Festival in its third edition

Al-Nahda University participated in the Southern Universities Games Festival in its third edition from February 10-14, for the academic year 2021 / 2022 in the New Valley Governorate, which was launched by the Ministry of Youth and Sports under the slogan “Youth of New Republic Universities”.

This came from Al-Nahda University’s belief in the importance of the role of sports in the lives of young people, and its interest in expanding the base of its students’ participation in all activities.

The delegation of Al-Nahda University participated in the games (five-a-side football – volleyball – table tennis – athletics – electronic games) with the participation of universities (Bani Suef – Assiut – Azhar Assiut – Sohag – South Valley – Aswan – Deraya – Sphinx University – New Valley University)

Al-Nahda University received the participation shield from the Ministry of Youth and Sports. The student, Abd al-Rahman Nasr al-Din Shafiq, a student at the College of Engineering, won the second place and the silver medal in athletics – running 100 meters. Amr Ahmed Ezzat Abu Zaid, a student at the College of Human Medicine, also won the second place and the silver medal in electronic games (PlayStation FIFA 2022).

The festival included competitions in games (football for male and female students, volleyball for male and female students, athletics, 100-meter run, long jump – shot put – table tennis – electronic games) in addition to an entertainment program to visit the tourist and archaeological sites.

This participation came under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Hossam Al-Mallahi – President of Al-Nahda University, Prof. Dr. Magdy Abdel-Qader – Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Anani – University President’s Adviser for Student Activities, and under the supervision of Professor Maysa Kandil – Director General of Youth Welfare, and Captain Amr Hassan, and Captain Ahmed Abdel Wahab.
