Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Hossam Al-Mallahi, President of NUB, Prof. Dr. Yasser Al-Sharbini, Vice President of Education and Students Affairs, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Salem Al-Khodri, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Mohammed Saad, Head of The Department of Electrical and Renewable Energy Engineering, and Dr. Hassan Mahmoud, former First Undersecretary of the Ministry of Electricity, Teacher of the Department and Coordinator of the Symposium.
Based on the fruitful cooperation between the new and renewable energy sector and Egyptian universities, especially in the field of power generation, and the keenness of NUB in Beni Suef to benefit from Egyptian expertise in this field and build a generation of future youth at the University to be the nucleus of Egypt in development and progress.
An online scientific symposium was held at the Faculty of Engineering at Al Nahda University entitled “New and Renewable energy in the current situation and the future situation” on Monday, November 23, 2020, attended by Dr. Eng. Mohammed Al Khayat, CEO of the New and Renewable Energy Authority, in the presence of approximately 130 students from the Energy Department and the Preparatory Group.
The seminar began with the speech of Dr. Mohammed Saad, head of the Department of Electrical and Renewable Energy Engineering, to introduce the students participating in the seminar to the topic of the symposium, and then Dr. Hassan Mahmoud, former First Deputy Minister of Electricity and a teacher in the department, introduced the students to the department of renewable energy at the college.
Prof. Dr. Salem Al Khodri, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, also delivered a welcoming speech to Dr. Mohammed Al Khayat, lecturer at the symposium and participating students.
Dr. Mohammed Al Khayat, CEO of the New and Renewable Energy Authority, began talking about the topics of the scientific symposium entitled “New and renewable energy in the current situation and the future situation”, which are as follows:
1. Egypt’s strategy on renewable energy.
2.Renewable energy sector.
3. Renewable energy sources.
4. Renewable energy in Egypt
5. The flexibility of Egypt’s renewable energy sector to operate in the atmosphere of the Corona pandemic.
6. The future of renewable energy in the market.
7. Household measure activities.
The seminar also discussed regulations governing renewable energy in Egypt, solar and wind sources in Egypt, and renewable energy land in Egypt.
At the end of the seminar, Dr. Mohammed Saad, Head of The Department and Prof. Dr. Salem Al Khodri, Dean of the Faculty, thanked Dr. Mohammed Al Khayat, CEO of the New and Renewable Energy Authority and the students participating in the symposium.
