NUB FACULTY OF Engineering organizes reception for new students at the new headquarters in Smart Village

Dr. Nasser Zayed – The Vice-dean of the Faculty, the heads of the scientific departments and the heads of the various committees and the faculty members and the auxiliary body, were present on Saturday, October 17, 2020, as the Faculty of Engineering organized a busy program to receive new students for the first semester for the academic year 2020/2021, the ceremony began with a speech by Dr. Salem Al Khodri – Dean of the Faculty, through which he provided an overview of the stages of the development of the college until it reached the current picture, and thanked Dr. Hossam Al-Malahi – President of the University and Eng. Mohammed Al-Rashidi – President of the Board of Trustees.

Dr. Abdul Nasser Zayed, the vice dean of the faculty, gave a guiding speech to the students to work with diligence and perseverance, and then Dr. Maher Salim, head of the Department of Basic Sciences, gave a brief overview of the nature of the courses that the student will study during the first semester.

Afterwards, a scientific film on the role of the Faculty of Community Engineering in the urban and architectural development of NUB and the governorate of Beni Suef was shown and followed the words of Dr. Iman Shaqour HEAD OF Department of Architecture, followed by a speech by Prof. Laila Abdul Hafiz – Head of the Department of Civil Engineering on the importance of civil engineers In sustainable development adopted by the state, then a speech by Prof. Dr. Alljamal- Head of communications Engineering, in which he spoke about the importance of communications engineer in the global digital revolution adopted by the Egyptian Ministry of Communications and adopted by NUB in its relations with international institutions such as Huawei and CISCO International.

Dr. Mohammed Saad Qarni also talked about the importance of the Department of Renewable Energy Engineering, and was keen to explain the new regulation for students, which is 160 credit hours, a NUB is the first in the adoption of this new regulation between private universities in Egypt and the Arab world, and then Dr. Mohammed Adel provided a full explanation about the department of production engineering, and a word to Dr. Ayman Rashid about the importance of the Department of Technology Engineering in the modern technological industries, then Prof. Dr. Rajab Al-Sakka – Chairman of the Media Committee of the faculty provided a detailed explanation of the website of the Faculty of Engineering, and the importance of students following updates through the site, and urged students to participate in literary, artistic and cultural activities and present them in the mold of the literary salon in the Theater of the faculty of Engineering.

Dr. Rashwan Al-Shahr, chairman of the Academic Guidance Committee, provided a full explanation of the college’s methodology in providing successful guidance programs to students, and Dr. Najla Fahmy provided an excellent explanation about the electronic support program and fingerprint system, and concluded today with a speech by Dr. Ahmed Denkel, coordinator of the ceremony, about the different grades and academic rates and how to distinguish the academic excellence and materials that the student will study during the first semester.

Faculty of Engineering on a field visit to the water-raising stations in Nawbariyah

Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Hossam Al-Malahi- President of NUB, Prof. Dr. Yasser Al-Sharbini – Vice President for Education and Students Affairs, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Salem Al-Khodri – Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and believing in the need to link the scientific aspect with the practical aspect in public life to achieve the greatest benefit for students, to prepare graduate engineers with scientific skills and practical to keep pace with the development of the labor market.

The Faculty of Engineering at NUB in cooperation with the Department of Mechanics and Electricity of the Egyptian Ministry of Irrigation organized a scientific visit on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 to one of the BIGGEST PROJECTS of the Ministry of Irrigation-  the Project of The Victory Canal of Nobaria, in order to reclaim and irrigate 1.5 million acres, and the trip included the visit of two of the five stations to raise and pump water, namely Station 3 and Station No. 1.

The students were greeted by Engineer Mokhtar Ziadeh, general manager of stations in the Nobaria sector of the Department of Mechanics and Electricity, who explained the reasons for the establishment of this project and its importance and the extent to which it benefited to the present time, and then the students explored the stations in full detail whether in operation, maintenance or repair and the buildings of the station heads and engineers of operation and maintenance, where they introduced the students with all the capabilities and mechanism of operation, maintenance and repair.

It was also agreed to repeat the visit each semester to deepen the benefit of the students and coordination and also to make a field visit to the water-raising stations of the TUSHKA and ESNA project and the hydraulic stations of the High Dam during the half-year vacation.

Scientific symposium at the Faculty of Engineering entitled “New and renewable energy in the current situation and the future situation

Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Hossam Al-Mallahi, President of NUB, Prof. Dr. Yasser Al-Sharbini, Vice President of Education and Students Affairs, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Salem Al-Khodri, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Mohammed Saad, Head of The Department of Electrical and Renewable Energy Engineering, and Dr. Hassan Mahmoud, former First Undersecretary of the Ministry of Electricity, Teacher of the Department and Coordinator of the Symposium.

Based on the fruitful cooperation between the new and renewable energy sector and Egyptian universities, especially in the field of power generation, and the keenness of NUB in Beni Suef to benefit from Egyptian expertise in this field and build a generation of future youth at the University to be the nucleus of Egypt in development and progress.

An online scientific symposium was held at the Faculty of Engineering at Al Nahda University entitled “New and Renewable energy in the current situation and the future situation” on Monday, November 23, 2020, attended by Dr. Eng. Mohammed Al Khayat, CEO of the New and Renewable Energy Authority, in the presence of approximately 130 students from the Energy Department and the Preparatory Group.

The seminar began with the speech of Dr. Mohammed Saad, head of the Department of Electrical and Renewable Energy Engineering, to introduce the students participating in the seminar to the topic of the symposium, and then Dr. Hassan Mahmoud, former First Deputy Minister of Electricity and a teacher in the department, introduced the students to the department of renewable energy at the college.

Prof. Dr. Salem Al Khodri, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, also delivered a welcoming speech to Dr. Mohammed Al Khayat, lecturer at the symposium and participating students.

Dr. Mohammed Al Khayat, CEO of the New and Renewable Energy Authority, began talking about the topics of the scientific symposium entitled “New and renewable energy in the current situation and the future situation”, which are as follows:

1. Egypt’s strategy on renewable energy.

2.Renewable energy sector.

3. Renewable energy sources.

4. Renewable energy in Egypt

5. The flexibility of Egypt’s renewable energy sector to operate in the atmosphere of the Corona pandemic.

6. The future of renewable energy in the market.

7. Household measure activities.

The seminar also discussed regulations governing renewable energy in Egypt, solar and wind sources in Egypt, and renewable energy land in Egypt.

At the end of the seminar, Dr. Mohammed Saad, Head of The Department and Prof. Dr. Salem Al Khodri, Dean of the Faculty, thanked Dr. Mohammed Al Khayat, CEO of the New and Renewable Energy Authority and the students participating in the symposium.
