The President of Al-Nahda University and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees hand over the design of the construction project of the East Nile Corniche to the Governor of Beni Suef

Within the framework of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to upgrade the tourist areas and sites, in line with the comprehensive development efforts at various levels in the country, in a manner befitting Egypt’s tourism and historical position at the international level, the Nahda University in Beni Suef organized on Monday August 10, 2020 a ceremony to hand over the governor of Beni Suef The design and implementation drawings and the brochure of the conditions and technical specifications for the construction project of the East Nile Corniche in the city of Beni Suef to turn it into a tourist attraction.

The ceremony was held in the presence of Dr. Muhammad Hani – Governor of Beni Suef, Dr. Hossam Al-Mallahi – President of Al-Nahda University, Eng. Muhammad Al-Rashidi – Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Al-Nahda University, Dr. Salem Al-Khudary – Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and a group of university leaders and a group of executive leaders in the governorate.

The project aims to develop the eastern corniche of Beni Suef from the bridge to the Monastery of the Virgin Mary with a length of 3800 meters and an area of 25 acres, to advance the tourism system and attract more tourist flows in the governorate of Beni Suef, in a way that mixes recreational and archaeological tourism, and maximizes the yield of what Egypt has in terms of Attractive destinations, and works to enhance the competitiveness of the vital tourism sector for the benefit of the Egyptian economy and to provide more job opportunities.

Al-Nahda University in Beni Suef has taken upon itself to present a vital tourism, economic, developmental project that serves the state in general and the governorate of Beni Suef in particular, and accordingly, the Consulting Center at Al-Nahda University was entrusted with the leadership of Dr. Iman Shakour – Head of the Department of Architecture, Dr. Rashwan Tahseen, and Dr. Ayman Hosni Abu Al-Ela Prepared  the general plan for the establishment of the Eastern Corniche, which falls within the tourism development strategy for the next five years for Beni Suef Governorate.

The design idea for the development was based on adding economic and developmental elements to the eastern part of the governorate of Beni Suef in addition to the public walkway of the corniche, and these elements included a Terminal serving hotels, hostels, restaurants and bazaars, and the building contains a complex of cinemas and branches of banks, a river berth for floating hotels accommodating a number of 10 – 12 Nile Cruise hotels, a marina for smaller river boats (swimming and transportation), a marina for games and water sports including jet ski and (ski boats), a yacht and rowing club, an amateur fishing area, and a swimming and teaching diving area for young adults with safety features.

This is in addition to a recreational area that includes restaurants, cafeterias, and youth activities, and a varied and multi-level parallel walkway along the Corniche that includes green areas, seating areas, children’s play, toilets, and some places of snacks.

 It also includes a mall area under the ground level at the beginning of the island that contains 50 medium stores, 12 large stores, a food court area, a restaurant with an underwater glass façade, in addition to a ramp for servicing and a parking lot for service and customers, in addition to a hotel resort that contains 250 hotel rooms.

Main gates were made at the entrances to the Corniche and include strengthening the communication axes with the city, while providing parking spaces for cars to facilitate access to the corniche and encouraging pedestrian and bicycle traffic.

In addition to the establishment of a gathering point next to the marina that contains basic and secondary services for users of floating hotels (restaurants, bazaars, pharmacies, internet and communications services) with the work of a marina inside the Nile, in addition to providing parking spaces for tourist buses for the visitors of floating hotels, a parking lot for businessmen, cars for publics, and attention to people with special needs , As well as a multi-level outdoor theater with a capacity of 250 people.

The design of this project comes as a gift from Al-Nahda University to Beni Suef Governorate within the framework of the support provided to the governorate, in implementation of the university’s social responsibility dimensions, and its support for sustainable development efforts in Upper Egypt.

The Governor of Beni Suef praised the university’s role in serving development issues in the governorate, and called for continued fruitful cooperation to serve the people of Beni Suef. The governor also reviewed development efforts in the Nile Corniche in the governorate, and the most important axes of work in serving development issues in the governorate.

The governor also confirmed the implementation of the President’s directives regarding the necessity of using universities as centers of expertise to serve development issues in the governorates.

The Nahda University Council gives the name of Dr. Mashali to one of the stadiums of the faculty of Medicine at the university

The Nahda University Council, in its meeting held on Wednesday, August 12, 2020, chaired by Dr. Hossam Al-Mallahi – President of the University, and in the presence of the Vice-Presidents, Deans of Faculties and Administrative Leaderships, approved the launch of the name of Dr. Mohamed Mashali on one of the stadiums of the Faculty of Medicine at Nahda University.

This decision was made in honor of the name of Dr. Muhammad Mashally and to commemorate his memory, and in appreciation of his medical contributions, consolidating the values of dedication in serving patients, and reminding students of the supremacy of the medical profession represented in his person.

Al-Nahda University has also allocated a full annual scholarship in the name of Dr. Muhammad Mashally to one of the outstanding students from the first high school to study medicine at the university and bear the cost of his internship year at the Medical University of Vienna.

It is worth noting that Dr. Muhammad Mashali was born in the Behaira Governorate in 1944, and graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at Qasr Al-Aini in Cairo on June 5, 1967, and specialized in internal diseases, pediatrics and fever, to work in a number of medical centers and units in the countryside of the Egyptian Ministry of Health in different governorates. In 1975 he opened his private clinic in Tanta. He took care of his brothers and nephews, and he has 3 sons who all graduated from the Faculty of Engineering, and for many years he kept determining the value of his medical examination in his clinic not more than 5 Egyptian pounds, and finally increased to reach 10 pounds, and he often refused to receive the value of the examination from poor patients, He even buys them treatment often at his own expense.

Al-Nahda University grants students Samar and Shahd two free scholarships for the Faculties of Medicine and Pharmacy

In the belief of Al-Nahda University in the necessity to support the superiors and the necessity to provide all aspects of support and assistance to the struggling models that seek to achieve their dreams, Dr. Hossam Al-Mallahi – President of Al-Nahda University announced  of presenting  a full scholarship with residency for the student Samar Bahaa to study at the Faculty of Medicine, Nahda University, and a full scholarship for the student Shahd Adel to study at the faculty of Pharmacy, in appreciation of their struggle and their eagerness to excel in high school, and to overcome the difficult circumstances they went through.

As Samar did not able to enter the secondary stage and enrolled in the nursing school, but the dream of the Faculty of Medicine, which did not leave her, made her insist on joining the high school even if it was after several years of her work as a nurse and her marriage. Shahd also faced difficult circumstances as she was able to excel despite her cancer and undergoing constant treatment at Children’s Cancer Hospital 57357.

Professor Hossam Al-Mallahi, President of Al-Nahda University, confirmed that Samar and Shahd are the real model and image of Egyptian women, And that when a person insists, he inevitably arrives, and added that Al-Nahda University, praise God, always encounters such beautiful examples, perseverance and struggle.

This came during a telephone intervention made by Professor Dr. Hossam Al-Mallahi, President of Al-Nahda University for (Egypt Can) Program, in which the presenter Ahmed Fayek thanked Dr. Hossam Al-Mallahi, describing him as the maker of happiness in the program.

It is worth noting that Al-Nahda University has allocated a full annual scholarship in the name of Dr. Muhammad Mashali to one of the superior students from the first high school to study medicine at the university and bears the cost of his training in the year of internship at the Medical University of Vienna.

And another Scholarship in the name of Dr. Magdi Yacoub in recognition of the value of science and scientists, as part of 10 full scholarships offered by the university to the first high school students in the framework of the university’s social responsibility, and in continuation of its role in assessing the value of excellence, and supporting the superiors in their university studies.

Al-Nahda University had offered a full scholarship to study at the Faculty of Medicine and internship in the year of internship at the Medical University of Vienna to the student Ahmed El-Sayed Burai, The first in high school, the scientific division, from the sons of Beni Suef Governorate.

The University Council also took a decision to release the name of Dr. Mohamed Mashally on one of the stadiums of the Faculty of Medicine at Al-Nahda University in honor of the name of Dr. Mohamed Mashally and to commemorate his memory, and in appreciation of his medical contributions and the consolidation of the values of dedication in serving patients, and to remind students of the supremacy of the medical profession represented in his person.

The Ambassador of Iraq in Cairo visits Al-Nahda University in Beni Suef

Dr. Muhammad Hani Ghoneim – Governor of Beni Suef – received in his office on Thursday noon, 10 September 2020, Ambassador Ahmed Nayef – the Ambassador of Iraq in Cairo and the accompanying delegation to his Excellency, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Hossam Al-Mallahi – President of Al-Nahda University, and Eng. Muhammad Al-Rashidi – Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the University, and the Vice Governors to discuss various aspects of cooperation. 

Following the visit of the provincial office, the Iraqi ambassador and his accompanying delegation visited Al-Nahda University, where he inspected the distinguished capabilities of the university, which included centers, laboratories and the educational hospital, and the delegation also inspected some of the university’s faculties.

During the visit, the Iraqi delegation watched a documentary film about the university’s capabilities, modern study methods, and the university’s partnerships with a number of prestigious foreign universities in their various specializations (human medicine – oral and dental medicine – pharmacy – physical therapy – computer science – engineering – mass communication and public relations – business administration).

The visit also witnessed a meeting in the presence of the Iraqi ambassador, his accompanying delegation and university leaders. In his speech during the meeting, Dr. Hossam Al-Mallahi, President of the University pointed out the strength of the distinguished historical relations between Egypt and Iraq. He also explained the features of the modern education system at the university, and the university administration sought to strengthen cooperation and educational relations between Al-Nahda University and Iraqi universities.

During the meeting, the Iraqi ambassador emphasized the depth of the historical relations between Egypt and Iraq, and praised the communication between the political leaders in the two countries, and also stressed Iraq’s keenness to support bilateral relations between Egypt and Iraq, especially in the fields of higher education and scientific research.

During the meeting, the Iraqi ambassador praised the enormous capabilities provided by the university in terms of research centers, laboratories and hospitals that improve the educational process, and called for support for cooperation between Al-Nahda University and Iraqi universities, and the exchange of visits between professors in various scientific disciplines.
