Students of the Faculty of Mass Communication, Nahda University, visit Al-Nahar TV

Within the framework of the interest of the Faculty of Mass communication and Public Relations at Nahda University in field visits to various media institutions, In order to permanently link students with the labor market and its developments, the faculty of Mass Communication, under the patronage of Dr. Adel Abdel Ghaffar, Dean of the Faculty, organized the first visits by students for this academic year to Al-Nahar channel on Thursday, October 3, within the framework of the weekly visits that the faculty allocated to media institutions every Thursday.

The students received Mr. Maged Amin, producer of Akher Al-Nahar program, who accompanied the students to the main studio of Al-Nahar channel, and gave them a detailed explanation of the importance of lighting and how to use it during filming. The students also learned how to manage television episodes inside the studio.

The students inspected the main control units (Control Room) and learned about the mechanism of directing and montage of television programs, and from there to the play out room to explain how the final broadcast of the programs broadcast on the channel is made. At the end of the visit, the students were accompanied by Mr. Khaled Al-Laithi, Director of Production Department for Al-Nahar Channels Network, and the students were introduced to the different studios, and he explained how Autocue Unit works. The students met with a number of media professionals, including Ms. Bossi Al-Tayyar, presenter of (Ezzay Elsaha) program, and Ms. Marwa Al-Shafei, presenter of (Akla Beity) program.

Students of the Faculty of Mass Communication, Nahda University, on a field trip to the administration of Moral Affairs in the Armed Forces

Within the framework of the interest of the Faculty of Mass communication and Public Relations at Nahda University in field Trips to various media institutions, to link students with the labor market and its developments, the Faculty of Mass communication and Public Relations, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Adel Abdel Ghaffar, Dean of the Faculty, organized a field Trip on Thursday, October 17, 2019 to administration of the moral affairs of the armed forces.

The students received Buggery Ihab Al-Qahwaji, Assistant Director of the Moral Affairs Department at Colonel Saif El-Din Hall, and he clarified a complete view of the students about the tasks of moral affairs and their various specializations and their role in raising the morale of soldiers and citizens. A documentary film for students entitled “Truth and Challenge” was shown, which dealt with the various tasks of moral affairs management and its role in motivating and supporting the will of soldiers, especially in times of crises and wars.

During the visit, Brigadier General Ibrahim Attia, Commander of the Military Media Center, gave a detailed explanation of the center’s units and the tasks of its various departments, starting with the agency section, websites, translation and viewing, passing through the information analysis section, the social media section and the analysis, publishing and technical support departments.

In addition, Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Iraqi Deputy Head of the Military Media Department reviewed the main pages of the authority, explaining the importance of sources in knowing information, and the need to stay away from unknown sources that produce false information. He also emphasized the media role that young people play in spreading awareness and culture and avoiding rumors. .

Then the students were taken on a field tour during which they inspected the work system within the Military Media Center and its various departments, including the Translation Department, the Social Media Department, the Media and Technical Support Units and the Reporting and Watching Department, and during the tour, all students ’inquiries regarding the performance of the military media were answered.

At the end of the tour, Brigadier General Ibrahim Attia stressed on the importance of not being led by rumors and false news, and the importance of verifying news sources.

The visit was concluded by the awarding of Dr. Abu Bakr Al-Salhi, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication, the Shield of Al-Nahda University for the Department of Moral Affairs, in appreciation of the university and faculty administration for their efforts and the good reception of students, and the great benefit from the visit that contributed to instilling the values of loyalty and belonging among students.

Presentation of the experience of the Falso site at Al-Nahda University in a symposium of the Association of Arab Media Facultys

With the participation of a number of deans of mass communication faculties, members of the Association of Arab Media Facultys and some experts in the media, the Association of Arab Media Faculties of the Association of Arab Universities at Cairo University organized on Thursday October 31, 2019 a symposium entitled “Fabricating News and Community Security in the Arab World.”

The symposium included discussions about fabricating and falsifying news and the extent of its impact on societal security, whether politically, socially or security-wise at the level of the Arab world, stressing that social media platforms play a major role in this because they have a great ability to spread, and the symposium touched on the mechanisms of falsifying and fabricating news and positive employment For social media.

Dr. Adel Abdel Ghaffar – Dean of the Faculty of Mass communication and Public Relations at Al-Nahda University spoke about the danger of social media in spreading rumors and false news, and on the other hand, he presented the positive role of social media, and the experiences of some countries and institutions in promoting the use of the positive effects of social media in the service of the state and society through five basic tracks:

  • First: Activating the mechanisms of digital media education as the most appropriate option to enhance the benefit from these sites.
  • Second: making use of social media for self-learning.
  • Third: Enhancing the use of artificial intelligence technologies and linking them to social media data.
  • Fourth: Making use of social media to support innovation and entrepreneurship.
  • Fifth: Making use of social media to combat corruption.

During the symposium, Prof. Dr. Adel Abdel Ghaffar presented the Nahda University initiative on the Falso website as the largest media platform to combat false rumors and news, which aims to support the state in facing the war of rumors aimed at destabilizing the security and stability of the country.

In addition, a video was shown explaining the mechanisms of the website’s work on the ground, and how the process of monitoring rumors and verifying news is carried out to ensure that they are true or false and present the facts to citizens with complete objectivity.

In conclusion, Dr. Howaida Mustafa – Dean of the Faculty of Mass communication and Public Relations, Cairo University and Secretary General of the Association of Arab Media Faculties, honored Dr. Adel Abdel Ghaffar for his participation in enriching the symposium.

It is worth noting that the symposium was held under the patronage of Professor Muhammad Othman Al-Khosht – President of Cairo University, and Dr. Amr Ezzat Salama – Secretary General of the Association of Arab Universities.

The Faculty of Mass Communication at Al-Nahda University wins first place in the Short Film Competition “in Ibdaa Festival”

The jury at the eighth edition of the Ibdaa Festival announced that “Film Key 10” for students of the Faculty of Media and Public Relations at Nahda University won first place in the Short Film Competition.

Dr. Hossam Al-Mallahi, President of Al-Nahda University, congratulated the students of the Faculty of Mass communications who won first place in the second annual Sharjah International University Festival for Short Films, and decided to hold a special ceremony to honor the winning students and their supervisors from the staff and assisting staff, as an encouragement to the students, and an appreciation for their professors as a custom followed by the university to encourage outstanding students in all scientific disciplines that the university includes in the Faculties of Human Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, Computers, Engineering, Business Administration and Mass communication.

Eng. Mohammad Al-Rashidi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Al-Nahda University, congratulated the students and their faculty supervisors on this remarkable success, which is a new addition to the continuing successes of the university’s faculties, and stressed the university’s constant interest in providing all the support required for faculties and students to reach them to the best levels in a way that makes them always Honorable ambassadors for Egypt.

Dr. Adel Abdel Ghaffar, Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication stated that the film “Key 10”, the winner of the first place in Ibdaa competition for the year 2020, discusses the issue of child labor from a new perspective, as it addresses the suffering of children, their dreams and their wishes in a manner that attracts attention. The film shows the suffering of a child while working in a car workshop, to a surprise that makes the child see life differently, as the students relied on the fantasy method of presenting and addressing the issue.

The film was implemented under the supervision of Dr. Maha Mohamed Fathy, Head of the Radio and Television Department, Heba Magdi Al-Mitwali, Assistant Lecturer in the Department, and Demonstrator Ahmed Sayed Abdel Hadi, and the implementation of students Abdullah Khaled Muhammad, Basma Issa Abdullah, Ahmed Ahmed Shaaban Al-Safti, Mayar Ahmed Mustafa, Hadeer Ihab Ahmed, Mirna Abdel Nasser, Mohamed Zuhair.

It is worth noting that the short film “Key 10” also won the first place in the annual festival of graduation projects organized by the Faculty of Mass communication at Al-Nahda University on March 3, in the presence of a group of experts and specialists in the field of art and media.

It is noteworthy that the Faculty of Mass communication and Public Relations at Al-Nahda University won second place in the field of short films in Ibdaa competition in the fifth season for the film “Samaha”.

The faculty also won three prizes this year from Al Shorouk Festival for graduation projects. The students of the Faculty of Mass communications won first place at the level of universities and institutes in the television program competition for the “Tunis Village” program, and the faculty’s students won first place in the radio advertisements for the advertisement “Enter it safe “. The faculty’s students also won third place in the documentary films competition for the movie “The Great Certificate”.
