On Sunday, December 22, 2019, a cooperation protocol was signed between Nahda University and the National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Hossam Al-Mallahi – President of Al-Nahda University, Prof. Dr. Salem Al-Khudary – Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and Dr. Muhammad Zahran – President of the National Authority for Remote Sensing and Sciences Space and all board members.

The administration of the Faculty of Engineering at Nahda University seeks to develop the Department of Communications and Computer Engineering to become the Department of Communication, Computer and Space Sciences, believing in the necessity of continuous development of educational programs and increasing their effectiveness to meet the requirements of the labor market, which will provide various and advanced teaching and learning methods, and systems for benefiting from the authority’s expertise in scientific participation in describing and teaching space science courses, establishing specialized laboratories, as well as modeling and simulation for space science systems.

The protocol emphasizes the importance of cooperation and coordination in the field of research, studies and technical applications in the field of communication engineering, space science and remote sensing, with the aim of integrating efforts, scientific cooperation and exchange of experts between the two parties in all fields, especially in the field of education and training.

The protocol also allows training students of the Faculty of Engineering at Nahda University with specialized laboratories in the authority to qualify them, as the two parties agreed to define a mechanism for cooperation between them in the field of training, scientific research and research projects.

This came in the belief of the responsibility of Al-Nahda University towards achieving the state’s strategy, which is to prepare distinguished graduates scientifically, professionally and morally who are able to keep pace with technological development and participate in a distinguished role in the renaissance of society and the development of the environment by conducting applied research and providing advisory, training and productive services in various engineering fields to serve the goals of sustainable development.

It is noteworthy that the signing of the protocol came within the framework of the modern Egyptian state’s tendency to adopt the latest means of technology and enter the field of space, as it is moving in steady steps towards digital transformation and smart transportation systems. It has developed a national strategy for “artificial intelligence” and has achieved a lot in terms of peaceful uses of space. The Egyptian Space Agency was established, and is currently hosting the African Space Agency, and accordingly, the Egyptian satellite (Tiba-1) was launched on November 27, 2019, and the launch of the Egyptian communications satellite “Tiba-1”, which will make a quantum leap in the communications and information technology sector in Egypt, according to Egypt’s future strategy, will use this satellite to help speed up the achievement of sustainable development goals, build digital capabilities that are eligible for employment among young people, shift towards a digital economy and access health and educational services to all parts of the country, in urban and rural areas.

Al-Nahda University participates in the first championship of universities and institutes for military barriers

Under the patronage of Professor Hossam Al-Mallahi – President of Al-Nahda University, and Prof. Dr. Yasser El-Sherbiny – Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, under the supervision of the Youth Welfare Department, and based on the keenness of Nahda University to participate in its students in various events and tournaments inside and outside the university in order to refine the students ’personality, And raise the efficiency of their physical fitness.

Al-Nahda University participated in the first universities and institutes championship for military barriers, which was organized by the Egyptian Sports Federation of Universities during February 24-25, 2020 at the Military Faculty in Cairo.

The championship was attended by a distinguished team of university students who are practicing physical fitness, who are trained by Captain / Mustafa Owais, Captain / Abdullah Ayman, and under the supervision of Mr. Ahmed Qorani – the team supervisor, where the team of Al Nahda University performed honorably and achieved seventh place in the championship.

The President of Nahda University honors the team of researchers participating in studying the effectiveness of some natural products as anti-corona virus

On Sunday May 31, 2020, Professor Dr. Hossam El-Mallahi – President of Nahda University honored the team of researchers at the Faculty of Pharmacy at the university who participated in a scientific study in cooperation with some Egyptian and foreign universities to explore the potential effectiveness of some natural products as antagonists to the emerging corona virus that causes Covid 19 disease using computer-based molecular modeling.

The President of the University emphasized during the honor witnessed by the members of the University Council today on the university’s role in community service, especially through research and scientific studies that respond to the needs of the Egyptian community, and The university administration was keen to provide all the facilities and support required to support research teams at the university in cooperation with other universities to achieve a breakthrough in scientific studies that serve the community.

The honor included Dr. Hossam Mukhtar, Assistant Professor of Pharmacology and Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies, Faculty of Pharmacy, Dr. Ahmed Sayed, Lecturer at the Pharmacology Department, Faculty of Pharmacy, Dr. Asmaa Abu Al-Majd, Lecturer, Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Pharmacy, Nahda University.

It is mentioned that it is in implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, to intensify the conduct of specialized scientific research to discover a possible treatment for Coronavirus, with the support of Dr. Hossam Al Mallahi, President of Al Nahda University, and the supervision of Dr. Mohamed Ayoub, Vice President of Nahda University for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and Dr. Hamdy Abdel Rahman, Dean of the University’s Faculty of Pharmacy, cooperation took place between the Faculty of Pharmacy at Nahda University, the universities of Beni Suef and Minya, the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport in Egypt and the University of West Scotland, with the participation of Dr. Hala Zayed, Minister of Health and Population, and this cooperation resulted in the publication of research to explore the potential effectiveness of some natural products as anti-corona virus that causes Covid 19 disease using computer-based molecular modeling, in addition to studying the physical and chemical properties of these compounds as potential treatments for the disease.

The research concluded that a group of phenolic compounds are available in abundance in many plants and fruits, such as pomegranate, berries of all kinds, and hibiscus. The research came under the title: “Nature is a hidden treasure for potential anti-corona virus drugs.”

The President of Al-Nahda University and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees hand over the design of the construction project of the East Nile Corniche to the Governor of Beni Suef

Within the framework of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to upgrade the tourist areas and sites, in line with the comprehensive development efforts at various levels in the country, in a manner befitting Egypt’s tourism and historical position at the international level, the Nahda University in Beni Suef organized on Monday August 10, 2020 a ceremony to hand over the governor of Beni Suef The design and implementation drawings and the brochure of the conditions and technical specifications for the construction project of the East Nile Corniche in the city of Beni Suef to turn it into a tourist attraction.

The ceremony was held in the presence of Dr. Muhammad Hani – Governor of Beni Suef, Dr. Hossam Al-Mallahi – President of Al-Nahda University, Eng. Muhammad Al-Rashidi – Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Al-Nahda University, Dr. Salem Al-Khudary – Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and a group of university leaders and a group of executive leaders in the governorate.

The project aims to develop the eastern corniche of Beni Suef from the bridge to the Monastery of the Virgin Mary with a length of 3800 meters and an area of 25 acres, to advance the tourism system and attract more tourist flows in the governorate of Beni Suef, in a way that mixes recreational and archaeological tourism, and maximizes the yield of what Egypt has in terms of Attractive destinations, and works to enhance the competitiveness of the vital tourism sector for the benefit of the Egyptian economy and to provide more job opportunities.

Al-Nahda University in Beni Suef has taken upon itself to present a vital tourism, economic, developmental project that serves the state in general and the governorate of Beni Suef in particular, and accordingly, the Consulting Center at Al-Nahda University was entrusted with the leadership of Dr. Iman Shakour – Head of the Department of Architecture, Dr. Rashwan Tahseen, and Dr. Ayman Hosni Abu Al-Ela Prepared  the general plan for the establishment of the Eastern Corniche, which falls within the tourism development strategy for the next five years for Beni Suef Governorate.

The design idea for the development was based on adding economic and developmental elements to the eastern part of the governorate of Beni Suef in addition to the public walkway of the corniche, and these elements included a Terminal serving hotels, hostels, restaurants and bazaars, and the building contains a complex of cinemas and branches of banks, a river berth for floating hotels accommodating a number of 10 – 12 Nile Cruise hotels, a marina for smaller river boats (swimming and transportation), a marina for games and water sports including jet ski and (ski boats), a yacht and rowing club, an amateur fishing area, and a swimming and teaching diving area for young adults with safety features.

This is in addition to a recreational area that includes restaurants, cafeterias, and youth activities, and a varied and multi-level parallel walkway along the Corniche that includes green areas, seating areas, children’s play, toilets, and some places of snacks.

 It also includes a mall area under the ground level at the beginning of the island that contains 50 medium stores, 12 large stores, a food court area, a restaurant with an underwater glass façade, in addition to a ramp for servicing and a parking lot for service and customers, in addition to a hotel resort that contains 250 hotel rooms.

Main gates were made at the entrances to the Corniche and include strengthening the communication axes with the city, while providing parking spaces for cars to facilitate access to the corniche and encouraging pedestrian and bicycle traffic.

In addition to the establishment of a gathering point next to the marina that contains basic and secondary services for users of floating hotels (restaurants, bazaars, pharmacies, internet and communications services) with the work of a marina inside the Nile, in addition to providing parking spaces for tourist buses for the visitors of floating hotels, a parking lot for businessmen, cars for publics, and attention to people with special needs , As well as a multi-level outdoor theater with a capacity of 250 people.

The design of this project comes as a gift from Al-Nahda University to Beni Suef Governorate within the framework of the support provided to the governorate, in implementation of the university’s social responsibility dimensions, and its support for sustainable development efforts in Upper Egypt.

The Governor of Beni Suef praised the university’s role in serving development issues in the governorate, and called for continued fruitful cooperation to serve the people of Beni Suef. The governor also reviewed development efforts in the Nile Corniche in the governorate, and the most important axes of work in serving development issues in the governorate.

The governor also confirmed the implementation of the President’s directives regarding the necessity of using universities as centers of expertise to serve development issues in the governorates.
