The faculty of Mass Communications and Public Relations, Nahda University, participates in the activities of the Universities and Digital Transformation Conference

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Hossam Al-Mallahi – President of Al-Nahda University, the Faculty of Mass Communication and Public Relations at Al-Nahda University participated in the activities of the virtual conference “Universities and Digital Transformation”, which was organized by the Association of Islamic Universities and the Association of Arab Media Facultys of the Association of Arab Universities on Tuesday 29 December 2020.

Dr. Adel Abdel Ghaffar – Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communications and Public Relations at Al-Nahda University presided over the second session in the activities of this conference, where this session witnessed the presentation of several research papers dealing with the challenges of digital transformation in universities at the Arab and Islamic levels.

The research papers presented in this session emphasized the need to continue developing the capabilities of online education in universities during the coming years to increase reliance on it in normal circumstances, with the increasing relative advantages provided by online education in supporting the education system, while developing the skills of staff in using the capabilities E-Learning.

The Dean of the faculty of Mass Communication presented a research paper on mechanisms to counter the spread of rumors and false news in light of the benefit from relevant international experiences, and how to benefit from modern technologies in the face of the massive spread of rumors and false news in different countries of the world.

Officially … approval to start study at the Faculty of Medicine, Nahda University

Prof. Hossam Al-Mallahi – President of Al-Nahda University announced the issuance of Ministerial Decree No. 3310 of 2019, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, on 4/8/2019, which includes approval to start studies at the Faculty of Medicine at Nahda University starting from the next academic year 2019 – 2020. He affirmed that the university administration provides all aspects of support to achieve true leadership for this faculty.

The Board of Trustees, headed by Eng. Mohamed Al-Rashidi – Chairman of the Board of Trustees, was keen to provide all the capabilities required to provide distinguished medical education in cooperation with the best European universities.

Last December, the university signed a partnership agreement with the Medical University of Vienna in the fields of development, construction, scientific research and curricula, and this came on the sidelines of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s recent visit to Austria, where the Austrian University accredits the medical degrees of the Nahda University, and supervises the curriculum, student training, the Evaluation, examinations and staff exchange.

This partnership came in implementation of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s decision regarding the conditions for approval of establishing new facultys and universities, requiring them to obtain twinning with one of the world’s advanced universities in the international ranking.

It is worth noting that the University of Vienna is one of the oldest universities in Europe and dates back to its establishment in 1365, and has a long experience in medical education that extends to 750 years. In 2016, it was ranked fifteenth at the level of European universities and 49 at the level of world universities, and about 100 thousand surgeries were performed in one year, and among its most prominent graduates the famous psychologist Sigmund Freud and the famous physicist Erwin Schrodinger, In addition, a large number of its graduates have been awarded the Nobel Prize.

Dr. Tariq Saeed, Dean of the faculty, have declared that the faculty adopts the modern study system approved by the Ministry of Higher Education 5 + 2 (five academic years followed by two years of compulsory training). The faculty also applies integrative education systems, and students will be practically trained from the first year of study.

The faculty also applies an academic advising system, through which students are divided into small groups, each of whom has an academic advisor to follow up on the student’s academic performance and to assist him technically to face any challenges.

Al-Nahda University celebrates the opening of the Faculty of Medicine in the presence of a group of ministers, public figures and media professionals

Nahda University in Beni Suef, on Saturday evening, September 14, 2019, celebrated the opening of the University’s Faculty of Medicine, in partnership with Vienna International Medical University, where the ceremony was held in one of  Cairo hotels, in the presence of Eng. Mohamed El-Rashidi – Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Nahda University, Prof. Dr. Hussam Al-Mallahi – President of the University, and a delegation Vienna International Medical University, a number of ministers, media professionals, governors and members of parliament.

Dr. Mohamed Lotif – Secretary of the Supreme Council of Universities during his speech on behalf of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education in partnership with Vienna International Medical University, praised that Vienna Medical University is one of the largest medical schools in the world, noting that the world is developing rapidly and the education system It must fit this development, Skills for the current labor market and future jobs must also be provided. 

In his opening speech, Eng. Muhammad Al-Rashidi – Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Al-Nahda University expressed his happiness at the ministers and governors attending the opening ceremony of the Faculty of Medicine, where he welcomed the ministers and governors, Dr. Khaled Al-Anani – Minister of Antiquities, Dr. Ashraf Sobhi – Minister of Youth and Sports, and Dr. Alaa Abdel-Halim – Governor of Qalioubia, as he welcomed the members of parliament,  the university professors, deans of faculties, and the board of trustees of Al-Nahda University.

Al-Rashidi added that, given the importance of the task entrusted to us, we have worked to develop laboratories and halls at the university, and a year and a half ago we established the largest hospital specializing in dental treatment in the university, which includes 340 dental clinics, and receives 42 thousand cases for free per year.

Eng. Muhammad Al-Rashidi pointed out that the University’s Faculty of Mass communications and Public Relations launched the Falseo platform, which began work last April, it is a media platform for monitoring and analyzing rumors, He added, “It was the 5400 news platform at the level of the republic, but today the site is progressing greatly and is approaching the 50th at the republic level, and this reflects the quality of the service it provides to the public in countering rumors and proves the credibility of the site.”

He explained that Al-Nahda University celebrates the inauguration of the Faculty of Medicine in partnership with the Medical University of Vienna, which is the oldest university in Europe for 750 years, pointing out that he wanted from behind this a real partnership with a large and strong university, noting that the university is building a specialized hospital with 300 beds in cooperation With the Ministry of Health, in addition to a partnership agreement with the Ministry of Health to develop Beni Suef Hospital.

He confirmed that Nahda University will have 1,300 beds, including the university’s beds, as well as the beds of government hospitals that the university will develop and implement its programs in, stressing that the university will work to compete to reach the first 10 places among Egyptian universities. “I promise you that every year we will meet to celebrate a new success,” he said.

Dr. Hussam Al-Mallahi – President of Al-Nahda University stated that the university has accomplished many works in developing Beni Suef and its surrounding fields, explaining that the university has 6 facultys and it is a 15-year-old, adding, “We obtained a decision two years ago to establish the faculty of Medicine in partnership with the oldest medical university in Europe, established for 750 years, the journey is long and not easy, and we insist that our graduates be among the best graduates in the medical and Therapy field in Egypt.

Al-Mallahi added that the university is building, in addition to the specialist hospital with a capacity of 300 beds, health units in the villages of Beni Suef for students to train in. It has also established a partnership with the Central Hospital of Beni Suef Governorate and another partnership with the University Hospital at Beni Suef University, with a total number of 1,200 to 1,300 beds for training the students.

Al-Mallahi pointed out that Al-Nahda University continues to achieve the progress it desires at the level of various facultys, and that it has already launched for the world through the cooperation agreement it signed with Medical University of Vienna and the rest of the cooperation agreements that were signed with international companies to train students and refine their skills.

In addition, educational skills and scientific research must be found for graduates, and the Universities of Vienna and Al-Nahda have a unique partnership in the region through the cooperation agreement for education, vision and mutual trust in education and scientific research, sending a message to new students: “Your future is bright with this cooperation between the University of Al-Nahda and the University of Vienna and I thank the partners from the University of Vienna for this fruitful cooperation. “

Niko Jassime – the representative of the Medical University of Vienna gave a speech in which he explained that the University of Vienna has a diversity in the field of medical education and scientific research, and that the Faculty of Medicine at Nahda University will be taught with the same educational curricula through the University of Vienna, as well as the training of stuff at Nahda University who showed great experience in The medical field.

He emphasized that the educational experience and scientific knowledge of the University of Vienna is ready for use in the Faculty of Medicine of Al Nahda University, such as lectures and study materials, and the training of staff and assisting staff on the latest practical and educational medical developments, adding, “The biggest goal is to help the team of Al Nahda University towards success and finally we congratulate you and congratulate ourselves on this successful cooperation. .

The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research visits the Faculty of Medicine at Al-Nahda University
