Operative Dentistry

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Suzan Saif-Allah – Dean of the Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine at Nahda University, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Fathallah – Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry at Beni-Suef University, Prof. Dr. Mohamed El-Mofty – Vice Dean for Environment and Community Service at Nahda University, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Ziada – Vice-Head of Community Service and Environment at Beni-Suef University, and Dr. Khaled Al-Saudi – Director of Continuing Dental Education and Training Center at Nahda University, the Continuing Dental Education and Training Center organized a scientific day for Operative Dentistry department titled “The Art of Preserving Teeth”.

The event was supervised by Prof. Dr. Shaymaa Nagi – Professor and Head of the Operative Dentistry Department at Nahda University; and Prof. Dr. Mona Eissa – Professor and Head of the Operative Dentistry Department at Beni-Suef University, emphasizing academic excellence and collaboration between universities to support continuous medical education.

On Scientific Day, a large number of students, interns, and graduates were present, along with teaching assistant and staff members. A delegation of Ministry of Health dentists were also attended the event under the supervision of Dr. Noha Abdel Fattah – Director of the Dental Department at the Egyptian Ministry of Health.

The lectures received significant interaction from the attendees, who praised the distinguished scientific content and the college’s efforts in supporting continuous education and enhancing the competencies of medical staff. The scientific day included a series of specialized lectures covering the latest scientific methods and modern techniques in conservative treatment, such as composite restorations, caries management, and the applications of virtual and augmented reality in medical education. There was great engagement from college students, interns, and Ministry of Health dentists.

Dental Photography

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Suzan Seif-Allah Ibrahim – Dean of the Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine, Prof. Dr. Mohamed El-Mofty – Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Affairs, Prof. Dr. Aliaa Omar – Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies, and Dr. Khaled El-Saudi – Director of the Continuing Dental Education and Training Center, the Continuing Dental Education and Training Center organized a “Dental Photography” Course. The course was presented by Dr. Mahmoud El-Ankily – Assistant Professor of Oral Biology at the British University in Egypt. He is also certified as Dental Photographer from the University of Birmingham. The event was attended by a large number of internship students, graduates, assistant staff, faculty members, and postgraduate students. Dental photography is considered an essential part of modern dental practice. It serves various purposes, such as marketing, communication with specialists and laboratories. Most importantly, it plays a crucial role in the accurate diagnosis of dental issues, which is vital for developing effective treatment plans. Additionally, dental images can enhance patients’ awareness of their oral health. Therefore, gaining experience in this vital tool is necessary for developing the skills of many dentists.

Implantology

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Suzan Saif-Allah Ibrahim – Dean of the Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine, Prof. Dr. Mohamed El-Mofty – Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Affairs, and Dr. Khaled Al-Saudi – Director of the Continuing Dental Education and Training Center, the Continuing Dental Education and Training Center organized the “Basic Implantology 2025” course. This event was sponsored by Dental Experts & Hayat Dental companies for six days. The course was aimed to enhance skills necessary for developing the competencies of students, dental interns, and graduates in their interactions with patients, as well as to meet the needs of modern dentistry.

The lectures covered an introduction to dental implantology, diagnosis, and the formulation of various treatment plans. They also addressed solutions for treating bone and gum recession issues before or alongside implant placement, components of dental implant systems, surgical protocols, soft tissue management, and fixed and removable restorations. Additionally, the course included a detailed workshop on using imaging software to design and create surgical guides for dental implants. There was also a live-demo of an immediate implant procedure and another procedure involving sinus lift and bone graft placement.

On the first and second day, Dr. Mohamed Adel – lecturer in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, presented the lectures.

On the third day, Prof. Dr. Mohamed El-Mofty – Professor of Oral Medicine, Periodontology, and Implantology, presented the lecture.

On the fourth day, Assist. Prof. Dr. Walid Abbas – Assistant Professor in the Department of Oral Medicine, Periodontology, and Implantology, presented the lecture.

On the fifth day, Assist. Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Kader – Assistant Professor in the Department of Removable Prosthodontics, presented the lecture. On the sixth day, Assist. Prof. Dr. Ali Al-Sarouri – Assistant Professor in the Department of Removable Prosthodontics, presented the lecture.

Endodontics

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Suzan Saif-Allah Ibrahim – Dean of the Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine, Prof. Dr. Mohamed El-Mofty – Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Affairs, and Dr. Khaled Al-Saudi – Director of the Continuous Dental Education and Training Center, the Continuous Dental Education and Training Center organized a scientific day and workshop for the Endodontics Department, which were supervised by Prof. Dr. Karim Galal – Professor and head of the Endodontic Department.

The scientific day and workshop were presented by Dr. Magdy Mohy ElDeen – Assistant Lecturer of Endodontics department and sponsored by Perfect Dent and Everymedic. The scientific day and the workshop were focused on the use of modern techniques and advanced methods in root canal obturation in a single session, utilizing rotary devices. They covered procedures starting from pulp removal from the root canal chambers, cleaning, and shaping of the canal using a microscope, in a live-demo for the attendees.
