Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Hossam El-Mallahi – President of Nahda University, Engineer/ Mohamed El-Rashidi – Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ayoub – Vice President for postgraduate studies, Prof. Dr. Suzan Seif-Allah – Dean of the Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine, Prof. Dr. Mohamed El-Mofty – Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Affairs, Prof. Dr. Heba Shalaby – Professor of Dental Biomaterials, and Dr. Khaled Al-Saudi – Director of the Continuous Dental Education and Training Center, the College of Oral and Dental Medicine organized the fourth edition of the Nahda University Scientific Conference 2024, in collaboration with the College of Medicine and Pharmacy during the period from 22 to 23 October 2024.

The conference activities commenced on the first day at the university theater, and on the second day, they were held at the College of Oral and Dental Medicine. During the conference, 12 scientific lectures were delivered, and 9 research E-posters were discussed by teaching assistant faculty members. The conference was attended by a remarkable presence of college students, graduates, dental interns, and postgraduate students. Topics covered multiple specialties including prosthodontics, operative, endodontics, oral surgery, and periodontology. The conference was sponsored by Davidia FGM, DENTAL PURE S-plant.

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Suzan Saif-Allah Ibrahim – Dean of the Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine, Prof. Dr. Mohamed El-Mofty – Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Affairs, and Dr. Khaled Al-Saudi – Director of the Continuous Dental Education and Training Center, the Continuous Dental Education and Training Center organized a scientific day for the Operative Dentistry Department 2024, titled “Modern Conservative Dentistry: A Paradigm Shift Towards New Philosophies”. The event was under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Shaymaa Nagi – Professor and Head of Operative Dentistry Department. It was attended by a remarkable presence of college students, graduates, and dental interns.

The first lecture was presented by Dr. Esraa Eid – Assistant Lecturer in the Department. The lecture provided an introduction to biomimetic dentistry and the repair of damaged teeth using restorations that mimic living tissues. The second lecture was presented by Dr. Alshimaa Nasser – Assistant Lecturer in the Department. The lecture discussed methods to improve the bond strength of dentin with resin composite. The third lecture was presented by Dr. Hagar Elsheimy – Demonstrator in the Department. The lecture covered dental restoration using fiber-reinforced resin composite.

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Suzan Seif Allah Ibrahim – Dean of the Faculty of Oral & Dental Medicine, Prof. Dr. Mohamed El-Mofty – Vice Dean for Community Service & Environmental Affairs, Dr. Khaled Wagih Al-Saudi – Director of the Continuing Dental Education & Training Center, the Continuing Dental Education & Training Center organized the Scientific Day of the Oral Surgery Department titled “Implant Site Development and Extraction Site Bone Grafting”. The event was presented by Dr. Nahed Adly – Assistant Professor and Head of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Department and Dr. Mohamed Adel – Lecturer of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Department and was sponsored by Pharco Pharmaceuticals company. The event was attended by a remarkable presence of college students, graduates, and dental interns, along with a number of Ministry of Health dentists. The lectures covered bone augmentation techniques for atrophic jaws to prepare for dental implants using the latest grafting methods, followed by a live surgical demonstration. The scientific sessions were highly engaging and received high praise for the level of academic content offered. Attendees were impressed by the depth and relevance of the material presented.

The Continuing Education and Training Center at the Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine organized the Teaching Assistants Scientific Day 2024 under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Suzan Saif-Allah – Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Mohamed El-Mofty – Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Affairs, and Dr. Khaled Al-Saudi – Director of the Continuing Education and Training Center. A large number of students, interns, graduates, and faculty members attended the event, which was sponsored by Sensodyne. The event featured three lectures as follows: First Lecture: Titled “Orthodontic Tips in Daily Dental Practice” presented by Dr. Amir Salem – demonstrator in the Department of Orthodontics. The lecture covered cases treated during the mixed dentition phase, methods for bonding and stabilizing braces, as well as the differences between gum treatment cases and orthodontic cases, along with tips to avoid future orthodontic issues. Second Lecture: Titled “Beyond Wrinkles: Exploring the Diverse Applications of Botox in the Face” presented by Dr. Arwa Alaa El-Din – demonstrator in the Department of Periodontics. The lecture provided an overview of the history of Botox, its effects on facial muscles, the anatomical description of facial muscles, various lines that appear on the face, and the uses of Botox in facial esthetics. It also discussed indications and contraindications, ending with a discussion of some cases treated with Botox.

Third Lecture: Titled “Socket Shield Technique” presented by Dr. Mohamed Ahmed –demonstrator in the Department of Periodontics. The lecture focused on immediate implant placement using the socket shield technique, protocols and timing for implant procedures, immediate implant placement after tooth extraction, and advanced techniques used to preserve tissues during immediate implant placement to provide the best possible treatment outcomes
